Thank You Loreto ‘A’ Level Students.

Well done and thank you to Loreto, Moss Side, A level chemistry students who have raised over £300 this year by purchasing their past exam papers and mark schemes on specially prepared CDs. Profits from the sales have been donated to assist the small chemistry department in Kolweny Kingsway High School.

The CDs are sold just before exam times and are hugely popular at just £1 each. The scheme has been running for a number of years and was the brainchild of a former member of staff. The money has supplied Bunsen burners, gas bottles and many other pieces of standard laboratory equipment which Loreto students take for granted.

Mrs Pauline Winn, who heads up the scheme, visited the school in Kenya and was able to take gifts of goggles and laboratory coats. She said ‘The students and staff are really grateful and excited to be able to do more practical work to support the teaching and learning.’.
